I
started making jewelry in Montreal when all my
jewelry got stolen. When I set out to replace them, I found that most
of the jewelry I liked were either too costly or badly made.
Instead,
I started to make my own jewelry. I had such great
fun making them. I quit my day job and opened a store selling jewelry
along with handbags, scarves and batik wall hanging.
C-Cassia's artisan jewelry
is virtually affordable by every budget.
We use the finest material. The style is Bohemian. We
love to use stones that are colorful , yet give positive energies. We
believe that turquoise, coral, quartz, jade mixed with sterling silver
and pearls help to brighten up your day to day
life.

I. Glimpse into the artistic creative process – discussion forum
Creativity (or creativeness) is a mental process involving the generation of new idea or concepts,
or new associations between existing ideas or concepts.
To create something original, one has to remove oneself from others’
work in the same field. Of course, you could also build new ones
on existing works, if you so prefer. Myself, I try to do the former.
Therefore, I isolate myself. In doing so I prevented myself from being influenced.
In the case of C-Cassia jewelry, creativity can be said to be linked with imagination and/ or
“Creativity, it has been said, consists largely of re-arranging what we know in order to find
out what we do not know."
Creativity comes from the subconscious mind.
Inspiration comes from what’s around you.
Name of a piece comes after it is made.
When I am making a piece, it is the subconscious mind that guides me for color,
shape and movement. After a piece is made, I look at it and realize what is on my mind.
So I give a name for the piece Sometimes, when I could not bridge the conscious and subconscious mind,
a piece has no name.

were made after spending a lengthy
period of time in the garden. It also coincides with reading Hans Christian Anderson,
where all the insects and flowers come alive and talk.
“Tropical Jungle” was made
right after I came back from a tropical island. “Coral reef”
was made after
seeing a miniature Aquarium tank at an airport.
With the example of “Get Bugged” I did not set out to make an insect shaped necklace at all.
Nevertheless, bugs must have been fresh in my mind.
II. Why do we wear jewelry?
We wear it to make a statement as to who we are. We wear it because of certain metaphysical properties of a stone.
We wear it because it feels nice and comfortable on your skin. We wear it to make us look good. Sometimes we even wear
it because people give us compliments. People do judge you on what you wear.
Since C-Cassia utilizes nature’s material, wearing C-Cassia jewelry helps to keep one in touch with our beautiful mother earth.
There are people who buy excessive amount of clothes, but would not invest in accessories. There are the others
who choose to use accessories to change their look. Since I myself is the latter, I will try to explain the advantage of it.
Once a while, you need to go from work directly to a dinner engagement. You can always keep a necklace in your purse and put
it on to have an evening look for your dinner engagement. A dress in your purse will get all wrinkled, even if your purse is
bigger enough.
We categorize C-Cassia jewelry as a mixed of innocence, sophistication and mostly cheerfulness. As we have already said,
we want you to enjoy life just a little bit more.
III. How to best wear beaded jewelry
Necklace – When you wear a short piece, it should not touch the edge of your top.
When you wear a long piece, it should be at least 2” below the edge of you top and not reach you waist.
Earrings – For those who have a long neck, it is nicer to wear a pair of elongated earrings. For those
who have a round face, earrings tug close to your ear lopes would look very nice.
Bracelets – If your wrist is small, either wear wider bracelets or a few of them at the same time.
If your wrist is not so thin, thin bracelets would make your wrist appear smaller.
When buying a gift for someone that you do not know so well, it would not go wrong
if you match the color of the jewelry to the color of recipient’s eyes. It will always accent the person who wears them.
For example, a purple necklace may not be complimentary to someone who have brown eyes, but will probably look nice
on someone with blue eyes. A choker style necklace will look nice on someone who has long neck. On the contrary,
for someone whose neck is not long, a long necklace would look nicer.
Then, there are different materials to choose from. There are gold and silver, precious and semiprecious stones.
Of course, there are glass, wood and plastics in the mass produced lines. We chose silver and semiprecious stones as
they are affordable, yet have a great look and feel. Compare to glass and wood, semiprecious stones reflects light
much better. Therefore, colors are very bright. It will help to brighten your day. We do not wish to impose on anybody,
but we do advocate against wearing plastics.
